Lara Perry (University of Brighton)
Lara Perry has specialised in British art and the art world of the nineteenth century, and have taken a particular interest in women and museums in that period and the representation of women as cultural figures in the nineteenth century more broadly, especially through portraiture. She has studied feminism of the nineteenth century and adopts a feminist approach in her research on nineteenth century art and to the contemporary art world, and art curating in particular. She has a developing interest in queer theory, and is part of a network of researchers who are analysing the role of social reproduction in art practices from industrialisation to the present.
