Alison Smith is Lead Curator of Nineteenth-Century Art at Tate Britain. She interest is in women artists in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries with a particular focus on women involved in the Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist movements and with issues relating to art education and female suffrage.
